Masauko Msungama
Mr Masauko Msungama is a Managing Partner for a law firm, Beal Dalken and Associates. Prior to the establishment of his practice he worked as the Company Secretary/Head of Legal and Administration for Indefund and Head of Legal Department for Blantyre City Council. He holds a Masters Degree in Commercial Law and a Bachelors degree in Law from the University of Malawi (Chancellor College). Other previous board appointments include those of chairman of the board of directors of Ecobank Malawi Limited and director on the boards of Old Mutual Malawi Limited and Nitel (previously known as Malswitch Malawi Limited).

Mr Ian Bonongwe is the former Chief Executive Officer of Malawi Savings Bank (MSB). Prior to that, he worked for the Reserve Bank of Malawi (RBM) in various capacities: Chief Manager for Exchange Control, Director of Research & Statistics, General Manager for Economic Services and General Manager for Administration and Corporate Services. At one point he worked in the Civil Service in the Office of the President and Cabinet as Senior Deputy Secretary on secondment from the Reserve Bank of Malawi. In 2007 – 2010 he served as Executive Director at the African Development Bank representing the countries of Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Republic of South Africa, Swaziland and Zambia. He once served on the Board of the Eastern and Southern Africa Preferential Trade and Development Bank (the PTA Bank) and currently sits on the Boards of Ranfer Teas Central Africa Ltd and Namiwawa International Private School. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Mathematics and Economics) from the University of Malawi (Chancellor College) and a Master of Arts Degree in Development Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts (United States of America).

Mrs Agnes Katsonga Phiri is currently working as customs consultant after retiring from Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) in 2015 where she worked for many years and rose to the position of Commissioner for Customs and Excise. She is the Chairlady of Agma Holdings Group of companies (comprising Coach Bus Company, Ampex Courier Services Company and Farming). She holds a Master of Business Administration degree (Bath University) and a Bachelor of Arts degree (Public Administration) from the University of Malawi (Chancellor College). Mrs Katsonga Phiri also serves as a board member for Mozambique Reinsurance Company (MozRe), Christian Service Committee and Jacaranda Children’s Home. She is a member of Rotary Club of Blantyre.

Chihera has attended various technical and speciality reinsurance and insurance courses. He has been actively involved in training insurance professionals through the presentation of various topics on insurance and reinsurance as part of capacity building in Malawi. Mr Chihera is the past Vice President of the Insurance Institute of Malawi (Lilongwe chapter).
