Heeding the call of the Botswana government for foreign investment, First Reinsurance Company became the first reinsurer to set up office in Botswana in 2010. First Re is a member of Emeritus International Group; and in an effort to consolidate the balance sheet, obtain one credit rating and exploit economies of scale, it was resolved to mono-brand to Emeritus Insurance Company.

Mr. Nduna retired from ZimRe Holdings Limited where he had worked as the Group Chief Executive Officer for 31 years since 1983. During his tenure at ZimRe Holdings Limited, he served as a board member to several companies in Sub Saharan Africa. At the time of retirement, he was also the Vice President at Federation of Afro-Asian Insurers & Reinsurers. He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University and an MBA from the University of Bradford, England.

Mrs. Mutti was appointed Director for Emeritus Re Zambia in May 2005 and subsequently Board Chairperson of Emeritus Re Zambia in 2011. A lawyer by profession, Nelly holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Zambia and is also a certified Arbitrator and Mediator. She is the Managing Partner of Lukona Chambers, a renowned law firm in Zambia. During the course of her career, she has served as the Chairperson of the Anti-Corruption Commission from 2002 to 2006 and as Commissioner on the Constitution Review Commission of Zambia from 2003 to 2005.

Mr. Kudenga is the Group Chief Executive Officer of the ZimRe Holdings Limited Group. He holds a Masters’ in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa. He is a Chartered Accountant (Zimbabwe) with extensive experience in investment banking, insurance and reinsurance. He sat and currently sits on several Boards of listed and regulated companies which include FBC Holdings Limited, Zimbabwe Investment Authority, Fidelity Life Assurance Company of Zimbabwe Limited, ZimRe Property Investments Limited and the National Building Society of Zimbabwe Limited.

Mr. Nchini holds an Associate Diploma in Banking and a Diploma in Banking from the Institute of Bankers, Gaborone. He has over 20 years’ experience in the banking sector and consultancy specializing in asset finance.

She has over 25 years of professional experience in the insurance industry, with a strong focus on life assurance. Her areas of expertise include strategic planning, capacity building, project management, accounting, and administration.

Patience Marwiro is a Chartered Insurer and an Associate member of the Chartered Insurance Institute UK (ACIl) and a Fellow of lISA (FIISA). She holds a Master of Business Administration, a Master of Science in Risk Management and Insurance and a Bachelor of Science Honours degree. She also holds a Diploma in Technical Insurance from t h e Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe and qualifications in Leadership and Management. She has over 20 years relevant experience in reinsurance operations in Zimbabwe and Botswana. She started as a graduate trainee at ZIMRE Reinsurance Company in Zimbabwe and rose through the ranks. She was transferred to Emeritus Reinsurance Botswana, then First Reinsurance Company, at its inception in 2010 as the Managing Director. She is now the MD of Emeritus International Reinsurance Company (holding company) in Botswana since 2023.

Naledi Gaboutloeloe is the HR and Administration Manager at Emeritus International Reinsurance Company. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Resource Management. With more than a decade of experience in Human Resources field, Naledi has built deep expertise in HR operations, employee engagement, talent acquisition, policy development, performance systems, and retrenchment management. Her approach to HR is grounded in professionalism, strategic alignment, and a commitment to fostering productive, compliant, and inclusive workplaces.
Finance Manager
Unangoni Sekwati serves as the Finance Manager at Emeritus International Reinsurance Company. She is a seasoned Chartered Accountant with over 8 years of corporate experience spanning the financial services industry, including external audit, banking, and insurance in both Botswana and the United Kingdom. A member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is registered with the Botswana Institute of Chartered Accountants (BICA). She holds an Honours Degree in Accounting and Finance and has a proven track record of driving financial efficiency, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision-making within complex financial environments.
